Sapphires are beautiful, precious gemstones that come in a wide variety of colors; from white, to red (ruby) , to black, and all shades in between. The price of natural sapphires can vary greatly depending on certain factors such as color and intensity.  Fortunately, there are lab created alternatives available which are much more affordable than their natural counterparts.  Lab created sapphires have the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as sapphires found in nature.  I tend to like lab created sapphires and rubies better than natural sapphires and rubies because the laboratory environment allows for intense color saturation and a lack of inclusions.  Lab created stones also give you an opportunity to have a much ‘”bigger  look” to your jewelry piece than you might otherwise get with a natural stone since lab created stones tend to be less expensive. Don’t get me wrong, I still really love the beauty of  natural rubies and sapphires, but I also like to save money.  Since sapphire is the birthstone for the month of September, I thought I would share some really beautiful and affordable sapphire jewelry finds.  Enjoy!  Peace.
